Born and raised in New Zealand, my Papua New Guinean heritage was not a big part of my life growing up. As one could imagine, my visit to my family’s village of Hanuabada in the capital of Port Moresby as a young adult, was a culture shock, but a really profound and enlightening experience. This is a personal album of my appreciation of the culture and the many things that I miss about family and Hanuabada village life.
